Farewell

Forecast calls for snow on Saturday so Ive decided to work half a day friday and leave at noon. This means I haveto pack tonight coz I work all day thursday. Im kinda sad but looking forward to the next few weeks. Except for the goodbyes.

Things I find funny about Grande Prairie:

Commercial on the radio -

Persona: "Is this Tom? Tom who still sleeps with a night light on?"

Tom: "Maybe, how did you know that?"

Persona: "Because I am the amazing persona..."

"...Oh and Tom, quit wearing your wifes silk robe around the house"

Tom: "I dont know what your talking about"

"Close your curtains"

"K"

Another annoying but funny commercial

"Duck, duck, duck, hottub? Quack quack"

Annoying.

I find the streets and their drivers very funny. Funny as in not haha.

Odd people who have never left Grande Prairie but speak with a Newfie accent. this is funny.

The amount of roadkill that doesnt get cleaned up...ever. I watch that dead cat get flatter and flatter everyday. This is not that funny.

The excellent job opportunities here but with nowhere to live. This is kinda funny.

A very small town with a large amount of very goodlooking men who I get the impression they are laughing at me. I think they sense I havent had a cuddle in quite some time. This is not funny.

In fact, I should have made a list of things that are not funny in Grande Prairie. I guess I should have expected this from Northern Alberta.

Needless, to say, I feel a bit sad to leave the trucks, the coworkers, my Aunt and her puppies and their massive TV screen of which I try not to watch to much of. I will not miss the boring liqor store but I will miss the discount. I know my wines...sort of.

Goodbye Grande Praire, you have treated me well. Goodbye suckers, Im off to Europe!
