Saturday, our heat is still not working so Des came over at noon and spent the next 5 hours rewiring the boiler. Genius. Hats off. The heat did not get fixed coz of a valve that was broken.
We managed to have 1 hr to get ready for yet another dinner with 'The Fam' which was nice but again, with 'The Fam'. Times like these are to much.
We had a good laugh at 86 yr old Auntie Eileen who has advanced dementia and while complaining that her chicken was to tough to eat says to Nick 'I didn’t even order the steak.' We all held our laughter in at her expense and old age and continued to watch her at home empty her purse out, organize her papers and put them back in her purse…4 times. Hearing stories of her trying to write Xmas cards and signing them 'Merry Christine and a Happy Nana'. Poor Auntie Eileen. But the wine was delicious.
Sunday was spent buying out Threshers with the 40% and buying 32 bottles of wine. I tried to make sense of it by saying to Nick 'Think of all the money were saving in the long run.'
32 bottles of wine.
Heating is still out and the house is an ice cube. Thanks to Cliff and Mrs. H. for lending us the heater (which we broke) but the room was warm. Oh and, we broke the bed….not because of that, because its cardboard!! Why do we break everything we touch??
Nicks gone over again tonight to help his Mom with her assignment and to give her her belated Bday present. I, once again, politley declined the visit over there again and will have a nice evening with heat (hopefully as British Gas is suppose to fix it today-that’s almost a week without heat), alone.
December has been so busy.
