House guests

So we've gone and put an offer on the house.

We both keep on talking about what were gonna do once were in it until one of us says 'dont get carried away, it might not get accepted!' Either way, were trying not to get our hopes up to high. It could get rejected and we would both be sad coz we really want it.

Im leaving the finance to Nick. He does work in Investments after all.

1 more week till Canada!!!

Saturday morning was quite amusing.

Our doorbell rings and Nick scrambles up to find some joggers and a tshirt to put on only to answer the door to JW's or...mormans...or christians, not sure who they are these days....

I hear:

JW: 'Ive just come round to spread the word and to give you this leaflet and to tell you one day that there wont be any suffering in the world...can you imagine a world without suffering?'

Pause...

I know Nick well but he never seizes to surprise me with some of the answers he gives.

Im thinking, Great, hes gonna go into a large one about how no, he cant imagine a world without suffering and then shes gonna go into an even larger one about some religious views everyone seems to think differently about.

Thing is, Nicks is nice, he would never just interrupt her and say, 'not interested'. Hes the type of guy to always take pamphlets being handed out on the high street whereas I walk past with my hands in my pockets and even sometimes say 'no thanks'. Nick will always give them a chance to explain why they are there and what they want.

So all I hear after 'Can you imagine a world with no suffering?'

Nick: 'Errrrrrr...Ill just take the leaflet.'

Good answer. Well done my boy.

If it was Grampa, he would be asking the Mormons if they take their underwear off to shower.

If it was my Dad, he would have invited them in and taken out his own Bible. They probably wished they would have never knocked on our door.
