I spent the day round Kims yesterday while the boys played football. It was quite relaxing until Christine and Rose came over. Rose is in the pre-teen era and wears only black and white and thick eyeliner now. She gets bored whenever shes not out with her friends or msning them on the laptop so she sits around while we 'adults' visit. She listens to her headphones and sometimes even serenades us in the middle of conversation. She stills cuddles up to me and plays with my hair but since Ive now known her since she was 9, I find it quite intriguing watching her process. But I wonder if she'll get influenced by her friends so much one day that she'll stop cuddling.
I guess I was there once.
Christine tells me all about her and Des and how he comes over and gets her to do his laundry and then she tells me about Beth and how she had to cancel her phone and doesnt have any money so she has to give her bus fare to get to work and pay off her debts and how shes worried about Rose hanging out with some goth friends...
I think I need to give her the Boundaries book.
Listening to all of this stresses me out. So as soon as I see Nick I tell him all about Christines woes and hope he can help her sort them out...but is it really his duty? In my family, my parents sort out my problems. I will listen if my Mom gets upset but mostly I am here to take their advice. When did the tables get turned in Nicks family? When exactly did the kids become the parents??
