I catch the same train every day. the 8:01 fast train to London Bridge. Ive started seeing the same people on the same carriage sometimes in the same seat every day.
Nick says whats sad about it, if I were to leave for a couple of years and come back and take that same train, some of those people will still be there.
Thats pretty sad.
Theres a girl that catches my train who has really long hair and its always wet. Either she doesnt have time to blowdry it, doesnt care to blowdry it or like my sister says, maybe she works in a salon where she can blowdry it before she starts work. Looking at her dress attire, Id say she works in an office though.
Me and her (and sometimes Nick when he catches the 8:01 with me) always stand at the same end of the platform and get in the same carriage and sometimes fight for the same seat...but have never even acknlowledged the other person.
this has gone on for 4 months.
Ive been off work for a few days with the flu. Since landing at Heathrow, I have experienced jetlag, hangover, flu, cold, chesty cough and to top it off...my period. Lets just say that 2008 wasnt off to a good start. So yesterday was my first real day back at work and I was still feeling kinda headachy and I also ran out of time so skipped breakfast. The train was late and as usual the wet-haired girl got in in front of me to a very crowded carriage where neither of us got even close to a seat.
I could feel it coming, the shallow breath, the sweats, the stomach acids whirling and I turned around to the wet haired girl and my first words to her were, "Im gonna pass out". If I hadnt said these words and warned her, I wouldve toppled over but she was so nice and made me sit on the train floor and put my head down. And then she took my arm and helped me out of the train and made sure I made it to a seat. She was so nice!! Asking where I needed to go, if I was allright, if I ate breakfast...I think most people would have panicked in that situation but she totally helped me.
Way to break the ice.
I was fine, I had to sit on the bench for a while to cool down, I tried to call Nick but his phone was off or something.
so now, next time I see the wet-haired girl I must speak to her and thank her, except she wasnt on the train this morning. I pretty much see her every morning, so either she is taking the 8:17 train coz she just missed the 8:01 or maybe she is off sick now...or maybe she doesnt work thursdays. Ive never really noticed.
Maybe I scared her off!! Maybe she stood at the other end of the platform....I will wait till monday to see if shes there and I will speak to her then. (coz tomorrow Ive taken off to go down to Poole for Nicks sis' 18th Bday). Nick says I can now be best friends with the wet-haired girl.
