My weekend didn’t go as planned while Nick was away on his boys weekend in 'Glasgee'. I tried to arrange everyone from work to go out for drinks on Friday and everyone bailed on me. Which to say the least, I really didn’t mind coz I always did like a Friday night in and I really fancied a movie.
But I didn’t have a movie so I thought I would be cunning and call wet-haried girl, invite her over to watch a dvd and to ask her if she had any. But I chickened out coz I thought it would be rude and just told her I was renting one.
Instead she invited me over to hers (she has a really big tv) which I thought mightve been a bit weird…almost as if we were 'moving to fast' in our sudden friendship but I agreed to it anyway.
We ended up watching 2 movies and had a couple glasses of wine and it wasn’t weird at all. Except that she kept on saying what a good choice the film was…before it was over..and how much fun she was having….before it was over. So…that’s kinda weird coz even when im having fun, I would never point it out, I would just enjoy myself and maybe talk about it a few days later about how much 'fun' I had. It was fun, but not rollercoaster fun…which in that case then I would probably scream out, 'this is so much fun!' during the ride.
I picked her up the next day for our pre-planned IKEA trip and lo and behold she brought her boyfriend along which was totally fine but she hadnt mentioned it before. He is really nice anyway.
We spent 4 hours in IKEA! And I managed to buy among other things, a duvet and 2 pillows that were to big so I had to back the next day, return them and get the right size. I was meant to go to Kims Sat night as well but at the last minute (literally), Terry called me and said Kim and baby werent feeling too well so maybe could we give it a miss? Sometimes I think the excuses are there for fun. I didn’t so much mind tho and rewatched my dvd and set up all my new IKEA stuff.
I picked Nick up from the station at 12 noon the next morning after his flight back from 'Glasgee', drove Dan home and somehow convinced Nick to come back to IKEA with me so I can do a 'quick' exchange. An hour and a half later and me constantly encouraging Nick that 'he would be allright' and that 'he can make it' we got home and he plopped down on the bed and slept till 6.
