Tokyo and New Zealand

Remember when I said that not booking a hotel in Tokyo was a good idea???

Its not.

We walked around for about 3 hours with our stupid backpacks on, very jetlagged, in the heat, soo tired and all the hotels in that area were booked!!!

Around 3 O clock whatever time that actually was, we stopped in a cool little Japanese restaurant and pointed at some pictures to get some food and beer and an Korean American guy walks in. He just happens to be the owners son in law here in Tokyo for the first time visiting his girlfriend.

Thank God for that.

He found us a hotel, took us out for some traditional sushi, met us the next day for lunch and...gave us a place to stay if we ever came to New York.

Lucky.

Flight to New zealand was long and whatever time our bodies were on, Im surprised I was feeling quite well.

Nick surprised his brother by hiding in the garden and calling him pretending to be drunk in London at 5am and then walking into the lounge where he was sitting. His face. Priceless. But maybe it wasnt such a good idea to surprise him considering he has to work this week and we are still jetlagged and cant keep our eyes open after 8pm every night. Lame.

2 days left in New Plymouth and we head up to Aukland for the wedding. Should be good and Nicks bro Lee and gf Gina are driving us and we get to see them for a few more days in Aukland.

So I guess it all works out in the end.

Weather here is gorgeous and their house is amazing. We wonder why we are living in our box house and living our box lives in London. This is the good life, here, in wide open spaces.

Check back for pictures when I can post them properly. I have the most ridiculous sunburn in a straight line across my chest! I dont think my dress for the wedding will hide it.
