Travel

I just feel…bored. Like the feeling you have when you have nothing to look forward to. Im looking forward to the house but its been taking so long that the excitement has worn off a little. It doesn’t really 'feel' like we bought a house. Especially considering that Ive been sitting around Des' flat with him watching TV every night. Plus Nicks been out this whole week and I havent really seen him except for tues when we met another couple and went out for Thai food.

So Ive given myself something to look forward to. I would like to see and make this happen. Obstacles of course can come in my way but why not save some money towards something that Ive always wanted to and then in the end I can always do a shortcut.

In 2 years, summer 2009 (that’s before we move to Canada)...I want to drive from London to Paris to Switzerland to Milan thru to northern Greece then to Istanbul thru Bulgaria, Romania to west Ukraine to Krakow thru south Czech Republic to Vienna to Munich to Frankfurt to Luxembourg to Brussels and then back to London. 6-8 wks to do this all in. Budget (of course) camping etc. That does a whole loop only missing out on Budapest (Hungary) when I can do that trip anytime within the next year, even for a weekend or 5 days or something. That’s not even driving from one end of Canada to the other. Best to do it on the pound anyway.

That leaves weekends trips to see cities around England and maybe a small trip to Ireland and to Edinburgh for a weekend even. That will cover every country Ive wanted to see in Europe and see around Britian. Im starting to save now for it. I wonder how much the whole thing would cost?

I know this sounds a little out of reach to a Canadian but Ive spoken to people that have done it and it sounds amazing. Im sure the Laguna would hold up. This has uplifted my spirits this week and has given me a goal to work towards.

Now maybe just to find a friend to do it with.
