Sink or Swim

My day started out with a freezing house as our heat has mysteriously stopped working, a scalding hot then freezing cold shower, then a rainstorm that flipped my umbrella up and soaked my shoes and legs on the walk to work.

Ive become one of the 'Suits'. I knew this was gonna happen. You see them in the mornings taking over the train platform and tube stations but you never thought you would be 'one of them'.

I had my interview for the Underground but thought it was strange that they didnt ask me any questions except for 'does the job interest you? Needless to say, I didnt get it. Instead I had a 1 day job for a posh brewery company in the main office near Hyde Park. I gave myself plenty of time to get there and still managed to get lost in this massive roundabout. Yes, I was walking. 10 min late, but noone even came to get me until half past. I data input names and addresses all day in my new suit and even get a free lunch and snacks and drinks in the kitchen! THeres another temp woman here and came over to say hi and even guessed that I was from Canada. Shes chatting away and then all of a sudden, grabs her belly, shakes it, and says 'Im soo fat!' and then goes 'Oh, I forgot to do something upstairs' so runs and takes off. I kinda just giggled nervously but didnt say anything. What a strange thing to say.

I guess it wouldnt all have been that bad except we didnt get to bed till after midnight last night as Nick dragged me, yes, he dragged me, through Ikea till midnight last night. Apparently its his favorite place to shop and was buying random stuff that I dont think we need.

So I guess that the tick of London. Its true what they say...Sink or Swim. I think Im managing to keep afloat this time.

I think Im even taking a liking to my new black suit. Its kinda reminds me of going to school.

Why did Nicks mom call us, during dinner out, to ask him, how to spell parallel.
