Well, I bought the chicken on the tuesday. Cooked half of it that night and the rest put it in the fridge. Wednesday, went, thursday went, friday, I had to cook it. But...I was going out with wet haired girl that night so....I cooked it anyway, put it in the fridge and was going to make curry with it on Saturday.
I wondered how long can you keep raw chicken in the fridge for before it goes bad. I googled it, asked the boys at work who were no help and just replied with, "depends on how much food you leave in there for him." Like I said, no help.
Saturday came along and I went to the market and bought some delicious fresh raw king prawns which would go perfect in the curry!
Nick went in early so I ate it myself with just some little leftover curry (i ate all the prawns) so I put in the fridge.
Sunday came and went, monday I took the chicken to work and ate it cold with a salad for lunch. I had a few thoughts on if it went bad but risked it anyway. I have still never been food poisoned by chicken. Ever.
There was still 1 peice of chicken left but I had some tofu (from the market) and an excellent recipe. Since Nick was at football and isnt a huge fan of tofu, I coked it and it was so good I ate it all myself.
Nick got home at about 10:30 and there was no food so I told him to heat up the chicken and there was left over curry.
He did. and he woke me up at 5am with a stomach ache. At 7:30 he had already been to the washroom twice! He went to work anyway, endured the bathroom trips and vomited and thats when we realized that he shouldnt have gone to work. That night, he had a high fever, aches & pains and even felt pretty bad the next day so couldnt go to work.
Chicken + leftover coconut curry ( I should have known from throwing out the rest of the leftover coconut milk that was left over the fridge coz it smelt) and dont forget, the raw prawns were cooked in the curry (even tho there wasnt any left) = a very ill, food poisoned boyfriend.
And its all my fault.
Hes better now. Hes back to his old self and even went out for drinks friday night and ate McDonalds!
Way to ease your way back in.
