I really wanted to go away for the long weekend. Oxford overnight on Friday maybe? After looking at last minute hotel prices and the shit weather we were expecting, at the last minute we decided to have a night out in London. Maybe dinner and a theatre or something. So I met Nick and he had already booked a table for us at a surprise restaurant. So we headed toward Picadilly Circus and found a very small very old pub and went for a drink.
Thing with Nick is, we never run out of things to talk about. Hes my best friend and my soul mate and I love every face expression he has, every joke he tells, every laugh and smile he does and I never get bored with him.
Anyway….the surprise table was at a Japanese Restaurant (coz he knows how much I love sushi) and it was one of those places where the grill is at your table and they cook your food right in front of you! It was amazing. I had the prawns and seabass with onion, asparagus and mushrooms with a side of california rolls and miso soup. YUM! Nick had the steak and salmon. Yum also! We even had a free glass of wine (on top of our bottle) coz they had to move us to make room for others which we didn’t mind.
Afterwards we went a saw a comedian in Leicester Square (pronounced as LESTER). It was kinda half price and in a hotel and the audience was tons of Europeans, they unfortunately find everything funny so were all in tears, whereas me and Nick were just laughing. He picked all the countries out of the audience (but I was too scared to say I was from Canada), why am I so shy?!
In the end, we were home by midnight and…Nick even gave me his jacket during the walk coz I was so cold. Who said chivalry was dead!? Also, I didnt mind skipping out on Oxford, Im sure it will be amazing to go to when its warm and sunny.
That’s my boy.
